Privacy Policy

Effective October 17, 2026

Mastering Managed Care is a newsletter, website, and podcast published by Kevin W. Barron (“I,” “me”). This policy explains what information I collect, how I use it, and the choices you have. The short version: I collect only what I need to send you the newsletter and deliver what you ask for, and I never sell your information.

What I collect

Information you give me. Your email address when you subscribe, plus anything else you choose to share: your name, survey or poll answers, questions you submit for the podcast, and details you provide when you buy an education product.

Purchase information. Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor through beehiiv. I receive confirmation of the purchase and basic details such as your name and email. I never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically. Like most email newsletters, the platform records whether emails are opened and which links are clicked, and the website collects standard analytics such as pages visited, referring site, device, and approximate location. Cookies and similar technologies are used for this and to keep you signed in.

How I use it

To send the Tuesday Edition and the free Field Guide; to deliver products you purchase and provide support; to run the referral program and send any rewards you earn; to answer your questions, including on the podcast; to understand which topics are useful so I can write better; and to meet legal and tax obligations.

How it’s shared

I do not sell or rent your personal information. It is shared only with the service providers that run this publication, chiefly beehiiv (website, email delivery, and subscriber management) and the payment processor for purchases, and only so they can perform those services. I may also disclose information if required by law or to protect my rights or the safety of others.

Podcast questions. If you submit a question, I may read or paraphrase it on the podcast or in the newsletter. I won’t use your name or organization unless you tell me I can.

Your choices

Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time. You can also email me to see, correct, or delete the personal information I hold about you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or state privacy laws, and I will honor those requests.

Retention and security

I keep your information while you’re subscribed or as long as needed to provide what you’ve asked for, and longer only where the law requires it (for example, purchase records). I rely on the security measures of my service providers. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

This publication is written for healthcare professionals and is not directed to children. I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If I make material changes, I’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, let subscribers know by email.

What Readers Say

“Managed care strategy and negotiations for hospitals and other provider groups has always been an apprentice model. This is great content that helps deepen your knowledge of this vital work, and highlights the new issues and approaches that the current dynamic environment requires. Kudos to Kevin for bringing this to life.”

"As a Revenue Cycle Director working in the underpayment space, “Paige Does Not Have a Denial Problem. She Has a Contract Enforcement Problem and there is a Difference" and “They Call It Reimbursement for a Reason” really hit home for me. Kevin has a unique ability to take complex payer relations and managed care contracting issues and turn them into practical, relevant insights. I walked away from both pieces with actionable ideas I could apply in my own role. That is what I value most about Kevin’s content: it isn’t just informative and educational; it gives healthcare leaders something they can actually use."

"Payers get away with so many interferences that go unchecked, this gives us the ammunition to push back and hold them accountable instead of just absorbing the fallout."
